This is great. I like people and their obsessions.
I wonder what would have happened if this guy was raised by wolves. Like, would he get really obsessed with a particular rock he saw one time, or maybe the habits of chipmunks?

This was one of my favorite shows as a kid. I liked all the weird Japanese import Haim Saban ones, even Mysterious Cities of Gold for some unknown reason.
I liked this one, too; it was the first anime I ever saw which I was aware of being anime. I distinctly recall six year-old me hearing people mention Japanese cartoons, and thinking oh! I know what they are, they're like the Fairy Tales show! It was a very innocent time. I don't remember too many details about the show itself, except that the intro music was totally badass.
Mysterious Cities of Gold whipped the horse's ass, too. Used to wake up super early to watch that one, but it only aired for a little while.
If I recall, Nick Jr. had a few Japanese cartoons (it was always on in our summer daycare) like That Koala Show and Maya the Bee.
and some fucking smurfs show but they were just little humans? I think.. googling "smurfs but human" or any combination leads me down a road I'm not sure I want to follow.
..aaaaand I immediately take that back because this is the best thing ever:
still can't remember the name of that show though :(
Oh shit, yeah! I totally forgot about the Littl'bits! They were another one of those shows that first introduced me to anime, only I don't think I knew it was anime at the time: it was only later, when I realized that Grimm's was a Japanese show, that I made the connection.
They were much better than the Smurfs.
