Game on NYPD!

Also this is the best episode of SVU I've seen. Never laughed so hard in my life.

infinite zest - 2015-02-12

Holy shit! Serious question though, I'm not a big SVU fan but I wanted to see this one. Should I stick to the supercut and save myself 40 minutes of a typical L&O SVU or watch the whole thing?

Simillion - 2015-02-12

does it answer your question if I told you I watched the full episode and have absolutely no desire to watch this supercut?

Maybe also the massive number of ads I had to endure didn't help...

infinite zest - 2015-02-12

Heh I think I'll just stick to this one. Something about the person who wrote "99 Problems but a Bitch Ain't One" solving the case on videogame harassment intrigues me.

Adham Nu'man - 2015-02-13

Ice T wrote "99 Problems"?

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2015-02-12

They leveled up.

Oscar Wildcat - 2015-02-12

But did she lose her noob-bitity?

DMCA Takedown!

Caminante Nocturno - 2015-02-12

Here's the whole episode:

It's totally worth it.

Old_Zircon - 2015-02-12

I can't imagine what else could add to this.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2015-02-12

So how many #Goobergaters have posted YT responses in Guy Fawkes masks calling for 8chan to rise up and make NBC BURRRRNNN?!

StanleyPain - 2015-02-12

I dunno about that, but Zoe Quinn and Brianna Wu got a fresh new batch of death threats after it aired.

(oh, I'm sorry..ALL FAKE ONES, OF COURSE)

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2015-02-12

I'm sure GG is torn between accusing them of making them up, NBC making them up, or them both working together in the grand SJW conspiracy to make them up.

It also occurs to me that there's going to be a ton of "Law & Order: SJW" idiocy from that group for the rest of time. Maybe they can commiserate with the furries who were the subject of a CSI episode a few years ago?

Nominal - 2015-02-12

Probably the same number of crazy person Brianna Wu fans saying how this proves gamergaters are just like ISIS and need to have their dicks filleted.

Cheerleading is retarded.

Albuquerque Halsey - 2015-02-12

Both /v/ and /gamergate/ though it hilarious.

EvilHomer - 2015-02-13

I think once Law & Order makes an episode about how scary and evil you are, you've won whatever culture war you're in.

EvilHomer - 2015-02-13

This will probably take its place next to "Reefer Madness" and "Mazes and Monsters" in ironic late-night viewing parties for decades to come.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2015-02-13

"I think once Law & Order makes an episode about how scary and evil you are, you've won whatever culture war you're in."

So you're saying pedophiles... win?

MacGyver Style Bomb - 2015-02-12

Monkeys in basketballs.

Binro the Heretic - 2015-02-12

My God, this is such an old people show.

"Them damn kids! All they spout is a bunch of gobbledygoop! WHERE'S MY DAMNED TAPIOCA!"

infinite zest - 2015-02-12

Hahaha! I was right! Just like the other one they created a few fake games, almost as cliche as Bonestorm. Parents: Boys video games blow shit up and are violent! Get Lee Carvello's Putt Challenge instead!

Xenocide - 2015-02-12

Some guy named THRILLHO keeps sending Zoe Quinn pictures of his stuffed animals.

infinite zest - 2015-02-12

:) I'm busy hacking the mainframe here but see you on the other side of the metaverse.

Okay, I'm middle-aged m'self, but I douse myself in internet regularly and I try to keep an eye on pop culture and everything, but...

In one of the more recent episodes of Supernatural, they not only had college students using netspeak verbally (that is, saying things like "hells yeah" or "oh-em-jee"), they'd also use the word "hashtag" in a conversation to drive home a point. Like, "You slept with my best friend, hashtag asshole!"

Does even a minority of "young people" do this? For reals and hells yeah?

infinite zest - 2015-02-12

Kinda, especially the "hashtag" one, but it's normally for comedic or ironic effect (protip: it's not funny or ironic. Protip: nobody says protip anymore) but it doesn't annoy me too much and I just try my best to ignore it. "OMG" I kind of have to restrain myself a little, since it's the same amount of fucking syllables! But I've been guilty of saying "WTF" in acronym form, out of respect for, I dunno, meeting the in-laws for the first time.

Or to put it another way,

infinite zest - 2015-02-12

Speaking of feeling like an old person, does anyone on a P2P actually SAY Darknet? Like, I know what it is, but I've never heard someone refer to it like "yo dawg, see you on the darknet" any more than "cyberspace" or, well "the net."

Also what's Ice-T doing at e3 in the first place? Being a l33t gamer (or a cop killa) doesn't just get you through the front door.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2015-02-12

The only place I regularly hear "darknet" is as a vague reference to "the place where really illegal stuff goes on" in news stories about things like the Silk Road or credit card theft. It seems to be a catchall for that kind of thing when doing journalism or trying to be instructional to an audience that might not be very tech-savvy, but never in casual conversation.

infinite zest - 2015-02-12

Also Ice-T's "I read off.. Kootaktu.. that it's.... better than Civ 5...."

Director: "....aaaand cut! Mr. T, would you like to do another take?"

Ice-T: "Bitch, did you SEE me in Surviving the Game with Rutger Hauer? That wasn't acting!"

Director: "fair enough Mr. T."

EvilHomer - 2015-02-13

Verbal netspeak like oh-em-gee is quite common; I've been encountering it for many years, since at least the mid-noughties. I myself have never used the word "hashtag" in that manner, but I do occasionally say "LOL", so I'm not really one to talk.

chumbucket - 2015-02-13

And then suddenly, every phone on the planet rings at the same time...

Old_Zircon - 2015-02-13

The fuck's wrong with tapioca? Tapioca rules.

The Mothership - 2015-02-12

She got SWATTED! On SVU!!!!! Oh god, so great.

Also: Darknet.

FABIO - 2015-02-12

"How can we make our Anita/Zoe stand in even more of a victim?"

"Make her a minority?"

Unmerciful Crushing Force - 2015-02-13

Uhh Saarkesian is an Armenian surname but I guess the producers couldn't compute so changed to an Indian.

chumbucket - 2015-02-13

Does this officially count as a "Very Special" SVU? Or did not enough important characters get hurt or die?
