Surprised this was at such a small venue.

These were my niggas growing up but my excitement about a so called reunion is tempered by the fact that Diabetus Rose is out of shape and his voice shot. I can give him a pass for the latter because aging affects us all and he gave it his all during their prime years but I'll be damned at paying 0 bucks or whatever to see some fatass do a cobra dance during Jungle. So much like the Van Halen reunion, this one is ten years too late for me to really give a shit about and I'm quite content with bootlegs recorded during their prime years.

Nice bongos tag. Dizzy Reed is the 5th wheel of the band and it's easy to forget he's even in it until you see a shot of him playing the fucking bongos to a song like Jungle. I think Axl brought him aboard out of pity given how Dizzy described how fucking broke he was doing session work for them in the making of November Rain video. He's the perfect compliant lapdog for someone like Rose.

I thought they kind of sucked as a kid but I've grown to like them a lot more.

About what I expected. Too bad about Axl's voice; drums seemed a bit off too but ignoring his voice they'll put on a solid show. I'll see how horribly overpriced tickets are if only for nostalgia value. Rest of the people up there are doing a good job at least.

Axl should have followed his idol Elton John's path and gone to sitting behind a piano crafting ballads. He's obviously good at making them and it wouldn't be nearly as awkward seeing him doing that than trying to still act young and angry.

I'll echo both OZ and bad ideas and say that they were my idea of what a band shouldn't be when I was a teen but I've grown to love a lot of their drippy, overdone ballads as I've grown older. They're better as camp than anything else. Axl's a big softie inside.

I was indifferent to them then, I am indifferent to them now. They had a few good songs and were alright for what they were; they'd probably be fifth or sixth on my shortlist of "Least Intolerable Hair Metal Bands", which is not too shabby!

I liked Izzy (he reminds me of my sister). Slash is an overrated asshole, and Axl is an asshole too, but it's a lot of fun watching him make a mess of things. Had his musical career never panned out, I imagine Axl would be making his mark as a hilariously dysfunctional internet personality now, ala CWC or TFL Bill.

I felt that way about the Rolling Stones: hated them when young, came to actually enjoy a lot of their early work as an adult.

GNR however sucked just as badly then as they do now. I'd be lying if I said I didn't listen to some awful shite back in the day, but seriously, this is perhaps the blandest rock music ever made.

Miss Henson's 6th grade class - 2016-04-07

Oscar, how can you call G'n'R bland? When they're bad, they're gloriously bad.

Jimmy Labatt - 2016-04-07

Pretty much exactly what Homer said.

Stopheles - 2016-04-06

No Izzy, no interest from me.

chumbucket - 2016-04-07

I don't care how stale and sweaty this band has become, this is still great.
