I grew up basically behind a place called Hot Cake House in Portland, which was also 24 hours. I had wicked insomnia when I was a kid so I'd sneak out a lot at 3 or 4 in the morning and they'd give me some free hashbrowns or something. Just me and a whole bunch of junkies, listening to X on the jukebox, ahh memories.
And for the record I hate waffles themselves, and Anthony Bourdain ain't exactly winning my heart and mind like he used to..

Wonderful. I love the Waffle House and I love watching people love the Waffle House.
There aren't any anywhere near the NYC area. As much as I've come to love NYC, it's a major flaw.
You got to make some Jersey friends. New Jersey is the diner capital of America.
They don't have any waffle houses, so that claim is false
The top 40 diners in the country are the top 40 Waffle Houses in the country. Also as a New Yorker I try my hardest not to enter New Jersey. New Jersey is the worst. I know this because many movies and TV shows say so.
If you're ever in Chicago Cena, stop at a Golden Nugget. It's the only place as good as a Waffle House north of the Mason-Dixon.

Had to stop after about 15 seconds. Waffle House is great. You can get breakfast, chili burgers, maybe catch a fight, etc.
But god damn, Bourdain is an insufferable anus that simply can't stop spewing bullshit. You aren't edgy, you're not as insightful as you think you are, and many in the industry would prefer if you would shove some food in mouth and shut the fuck up.
Sean Brock, however, is the shit.
HA HA, We get it Tony, drunk people go there.

Well great. Now I have an uncontrollable urge to eat at a Waffle House or an IHOP or something like that. And I don't even like diners.
IHOP is shit. Waffle House is 1000000% better.

I've not been to my local Waffle House. I have been to this diner down the street that offers a breakfast of two eggs, hash browns, toast and bacon. Entirely covered in sausage gravy. I don't remember how I got home after that.

I feel bad I never gave season 2 of Mind Of A Chef a chance as I think, watching this, Brock has got it figured out. I just didn't like Chang all that much although he had a few interesting moments on that show.

he should have gone with "if this isn't nice I don't know what is" if he had to quote Vonnegut.
