I know the 80s take a fair amount of heat for turning cartoons into 30-minute commercials -- and it's a legitimate point -- but let's be clear, it didn't make the cartoons themselves any worse.

Doesn't surprise me really, "Kiss Meets the ___" was everywhere so let's insert the Aquabats into Jabberjaw, or make the Misfits WWE characters, shit like that. The Simpsons was probably the only animated universe where this shitty concept actually worked.

There's an issue of the Steve Jackson Games magazine Pyramid that makes that dream come true.

This is a cartoon for people who think Frankenberry is too grimdark.

I remember the good old days when Draculas would call Frankensteins "limey cocksuckers". Not even that could save this cartoon.
