white people tag
The ghost of Dudley Moore lives in Japan?
This guy is really good, weird as fuck, but really good.
Yeah, this is really the whole package of white person nerdery.

I am not ashamed to say that I thought this was awesome.
That probably says a lot of nothing good about me.
This man probably has the most intense fetish for Japanese women in the world!
He is a pretty good player.

Oh my good lord, the nerdosity is suffocating.

This guy learned how to do something. I'll bet he even had to learn it on his own, without anyone to teach him.
That is admirable.
He actually knew how to play guitar before going to Japan and studied in Tsugaru to learn it. He's the only non-Japanese to win shamisen awards, of which he's won a lot. There's also a guy on Youtube who BUILT HIS OWN and taught himself.
Er, I mean, EFFORT IT SHAMEFUL OMG I'M SO EDGY.
I bet he digs a hole in the ground and fucks it every time he's in japan.
I respect the effort required to learn a musical instrument.
That being said, this guy is the king of all weeaboo beardoes. LOOK AT ME WEARING MY JAPANESE CLOTHES AND PLAYING MY JAPANESE INSTRUMENT IN THE JAPANESE HOUSE CORNER OF MY MOM'S BASEMENT.

I figured out a bit of the Star Wars theme song when I was twelve on the recorder and I am functionally retarded and genetically tone-deaf. I REMAIN SMUGLY UNIMPRESSED.
Is there a cultural appropriation tag?
Check out his other videos. I applaud anyone who can learn an instrument from a foreign musical tradition but Paganini and Yngwie Malmsteen for gods sake?
I'm pretty sure Kevin Kmetz is half Japanese. Appropriating his own culture, maybe?

I am filled with admiration. And the need to laugh at him.

I love it apart from the *CHORTLE* i've picked up a hammer! This is not a plectrum! *CHORTLE* part.
other than that he well deserves to not be made fun of.
I am impressed. Learning guitar is hard enough. Playing some strange instrument with what appears to be a putty knife, and making it work sonically, has to be much harder.
I wonder if some people are filled with the thought "I will never as interesting as this guy" and it makes them jealous.
