He was hired on during MSNBC's early days, when they were trying to copy Fox News instead of serving as its nemesis. He had like three or four terrible shows, all swiftly canceled. This is the first time I've emphatically disagreed with Rachel. She is entirely wrong. And fuck, but do I hate agreeing with Buchanan, but her dismissal of valid points detracts from her salient and appropriate stance.

Valid points like "All the founding fathers were white!" or "Only whites fought on D-Day!" Or that Sotomayor is somehow unqualified for her job because she went to school during affermative action. She's tried more than 3,000 appeals cases and has written almost 400 opinions. Her career has been extremely uncontroversial up until the last couple weeks. This is more Palin-esqe flailing from the Republicans and you are stupid, stupid, stupid for buying into it.

If you ever watch the chemistry between Maddow and Buchanan on any other MSNBC shows, it's absolutely fantastic. It seems like they rip into each other with a greater degree of venom and vitriol than other opinion/debate show guests, then go off for cocktails after the show is done.
