True, but much of Bioshock involved "interactive cutscenes", including the famous opening. While I'm guessing this exact scene won't be in the final product, I'd bet there's parts just like it.

I bet you guys are wrong. Remember the first 5 or so minutes of gameplay in the original Bioshock? It was just a railroad designed to create the illusion that you had some manner of control of what was essentially a pretty cool opening cut scene. This is just that but with the stakes raised. I bet when this game comes out the opening is going to be pretty much like this, and everyone is going to just be surprised by how little actual control you have over what's happening. The player's entire contribution to that whole experience is going to be "shoot shit whenever my gun returns" and they're banking on the player being too impressed to care.

This does look really on the border of a CD-ROM game... this is pretty much just a really beautiful scene transition, right? The whole game isn't like this.

Well that is supposed to be game engine footage, not a cutscene or the like. Except for the draw distance, its not that different than current game standards. Most of the best looking things there come from aesthetics, not graphics.

I don't know if the "border of a CD-ROM game" is a joke or an adorable anachronism.

That's not gameplay or engine footage. It's a pretty movie. I don't care what they said, that is clearly not interactive nor would it work if it was interactive.

tragically, your criticism is pretty spot on... But... the character interactions with enemies look vastly improved. The guy asking if you're an assassin? That gives a good amount of backstory... They may hit it out of the park with this one.
