I was friends with the guy who headed up the television side of the XFL for NBC.

He said the McMahons were very bizarre business partners and played everything close to the vest for absolutely no reason. They would be in a high level meeting with NBC executives and producers, and the McMahons would literally start whispering to each other and refusing to answer questions like they were at a deposition. They would make important decisions about programming and not say anything about them to NBC or to anybody else. And they would insist on changing the most minor things at the last minute.

He said the whole thing was extremely stressful. It the most he ever got paid his entire life, and when the XFL died, he told me he literally wept with joy.

If I remember correctly, this game was originally going to be called "The Big Game at the End of the Season".

Long Bomb by Brett Forrest is a great read if you want to learn more about this spectacular failure.

this is some horrible football

It's so much better than that NFL Football that everybody hates and finds so boring.
Trying so hard to turn every team's fans into Raiders fans.
I don't know how, but I had no idea this ever even existed.
