I think a simple warning to both of them might have made you look better.

I'd like to suggest that someone who is good at CSS make a new template for this site to make it look nicer and submit it to support.

Support is pretty open to suggestions. For example, on a thread once I suggested that a random view be displayed on the front page (instead of just a link for 'random') and lo! We have that now on the top left of the index.
