Five for being something that would cause Dorothy Parker to slit somebody's throat.

chairsforcheap - 2013-09-09

they should probably drop some napalm on that building

RocketBlender - 2013-09-09

Are either of these voice actresses of characters I would recognize?

StanleyPain - 2013-09-09

The woman with the camera used to be Bubbles on Powerpuff Girls. I assume now they are both on MLP and are now consumed by that fucktardedness. Guess it pays the bills...

Crunchy Frog - 2013-09-09

The woman in front of the camera (Tabitha St. Germain) was Kootie Pie Koopa in the Super Mario cartoon, and Spryte in the Zelda cartoon from around 1990.

RocketBlender - 2013-09-09

Oh dear god, I know these people and even liked them on TV. I can't decide if that makes me hate this video more or less.

EvilHomer - 2013-09-09

They are both on MLP, and they both love the show. Tara plays Twilight Sparkle, the brainy purple unicorn and mane heroine of the series. Tabitha has a few roles, the most recognizable of which are Rarity, the prissy white unicorn that Caminante loves, and Luna, the goth princess pony whom the fandom adores for some reason. Despite being a supporting pony with only a handful of appearances so far, Princess Luna is consistently ranked as one the top five ponies in Brony census polls.

They've played hundreds of roles apiece, so chances are you've heard them in at least a couple of things. As SP said, Tara is probably best known for her work on Powerpuff Girls (a show created by Lauren Faust, whom you may recognize as the woman who went on to create MLP: FiM). Tara was on the Super Mario Brothers cartoon alongside Tabitha, as one or two of the other koopalings, and she's also the current voice of both Harley Quinn and Raven from DC Comics.

Tabitha did stuff for the Carebears back in the 80s. She's been in a bunch of anime dubs, ranging from Maison Ikkoku to Gundam Seed, and she was the voice of Rhonda and Augie Shumway, ALF's girlfriend and sister, respectively.

lordyam - 2013-09-09

tara strong was the voice of harley quinn from batman, she also did several characters from the beetlejuice cartoon

The God of Biscuits - 2013-09-09

Tara was also Rikku from FFX

Caminante Nocturno - 2013-09-10

Tara Strong also did the voice for Juliet Starling in Lollipop Chainsaw, which has lead to several hilarious MLP fan videos of Twilight Sparkle talking dirty.

I have the same issue with Twilight Sparkle and Rarity that I did with Sailors Mars and Mercury, where I like both of them so much I have trouble definitively picking which one is my favorite, so they both end up occupying the #1 spot.

EvilHomer - 2013-09-10

It's interesting how you compare Twi and Rarity to Mercury and Mars, Caminante! While I don't agree with your preferences in either show (Rainbowshy and Mooncury!!!), I've been spending a lot of time trying to work out which ponies would go with Sailor Scouts. My research has led me to conclude that each of the Mane Six can be connected to TWO of the Inner Senshi, as follows:

Twilight is Mercury and Mars, because she's a brainy, yet also bossy and business-like.
Rarity is Mars and Venus, because of her refined, mature mannerisms, and canonical elegance and beauty.
Pinkie Pie is Moon and Venus, because she's a spazzy ditz but also very friendly and warm.
Applejack is Jupiter and Mars, because of her physical toughness and straightforward attitude.
Rainbow is Moon and Jupiter, because she's an ass-kicking tomboy, who can be a bit lazy and selfish.
And finally, Fluttershy is Mercury and Venus, because she's shy and super-sweet.

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-09-10

Seriously, fuck you guys.

baleen - 2013-09-10

Tara Strong also ate my own feces and then died.

SexualBasalt - 2013-09-10

What the fuck happened to poetv with these fucking pedophile cartoon watchers being accepted here and not unceasingly mocked until they changed or left? I liked this place better when everyone was filled with hate.

Caminante Nocturno - 2013-09-10

Okay, that all sounds good and fine, but what about ChibiUsa? I see her as half Sweetie Belle, half Applebloom, all cop.

Spaceman Africa - 2013-09-10

It makes me so sad that Staff came back briefly and banned Preybyemail but not EvilHomer.

poopy - 2013-09-10

EvilHomer is an artist.

Shoebox Joe - 2013-09-10

Quick note: I noticed a new account named "Vinyl Scratch" had up voted the Japonies video.

EvilHomer - 2013-09-10

Vinyl Scratch?! That's awesome! The PoEny Khalasar grows with each passing moon! Ase shafki athdrivar, Khaleesi Rainbow. Shieraki gori ha yeraan!!!

And Caminante, I'd say that Alicorn Twilight is ChibiUsa, in that the show went downhill after she was introduced.

chumbucket - 2013-09-09

Omg stfu

BHWW - 2013-09-09

I would have heartily endorsed someone lobbing a tear gas grenade or two into that place.

(cue one of PoETV's resident bronies to come stumbling in and post a snippy comment about oooooh, how all of us internet tough guys are threatened by a kids' show oh why do you endorse violence against blah blah blah or some such nonsense)

EvilHomer - 2013-09-09

I don't know. I think the tear gas would make it easier to get Tara into my van.

chairsforcheap - 2013-09-09

it was only a couple seconds in but i was really hoping she would have made a tragic mistake when she mimed jamming a sharpie in her eye

EvilHomer - 2013-09-09

Haha, yeah, like in the Pinkie Swear! "Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my OWWWW!" I was thinking the same thing, chairs!

But then I remembered that Twilight was the one who stabbed her own eye, not Rarity. So Tara and Tabitha would have had to switch places.

chairsforcheap - 2013-09-09

*smiles maintaining eye contact while slowly edging towards the poetv exit*

Caminante Nocturno - 2013-09-10

Yeah, that's right. Run like the little coward we all know you are.

CJH - 2013-09-10

uh oh the tables are turned! one might even call it the revenge of the nerds

BHWW - 2013-09-10

Y'know, back in the olden days of PoE, when there was still a Portal of Evil, the idea of a bunch of adults obsessing over a cartoon show that, despite it's cutesy on-the-nose moral lessons about friendship and caring and whatever, is in the end just another animated commerical aired on a cable network that's owned by a toy company would have recieved the just amount of derision and head-shaking disbelief. Just like they did with people obsessed with schedule-filler like the old Disney Afternoon cartoons who did things like write and draw exteremly serious stories about Chip 'n' Dales' Rescue Rangers and Tale Spin and the like.

And a few people would have taken it too far, like they did with furries, like the occasional ultra-vehemenent anti-furries who would show up and take it into AND KILL THE FURRIES AND KILL THE FURRIES territory and rightly been shouted down or ignored. But in the end laughs would have been had and it would all have been in good fun.

EvilHomer - 2013-09-10

The difference here is that MLP is genuinely a great show, funny and well-written, with a cast and crew who love what they're doing and connect with the fans on a totally non-cynical level. Unlike formulaic hacked out tripe, such as Tale Spin.

But MLP still gets it's share of derision here, mostly from poesters who haven't actually watched it yet, and are understandably wary of a show that, from a distance, appears to be yet another half-hour toy commercial. It's just hard to get VIOLENT over it, because on the one hand, bronies are generally very laid back and tolerant of outsiders, and on the other, I think anti-bronies understand, on some level, that the show really is good and not worth persecuting.

If we want some real old fashioned DRAMA, we'll have to start watching and commenting on hardcore clop videos.

Shoebox Joe - 2013-09-10

I like to imagine all of the anti-POEnies screaming "EveryPoEny for themselves!" followed by "The horror! The horror!"

Shoebox Joe - 2013-09-10

Note: That scene will come after the flooding feelings of turning into mindlessly positive, unassuming slaves I.E. self appointed RePUGNANTcans, like a huge portion of the verbosely obnoxious side of the fanbase.

Shoebox Joe - 2013-09-10

have been averted. Fuck where is my mind today. :(

Shoebox Joe - 2013-09-10

Shit. I blew it. But yeah. That's what'll happen when a pony video shows up.

Shoebox Joe - 2013-09-10

Shave and a hair cut. Two bits!

Shoebox Joe - 2013-09-10

I just clicked on the Squealing Caterpillar video.

Shoebox Joe - 2013-09-10

My mother said I would die one day but I didn't believe her.

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-09-10

No really, fuck you all. All this "IT'S A REALLY GOOD SHOW" shit is retarded.

Shoebox Joe - 2013-09-10

Jet Bin Fever. Which otter pop is your favorite?
Rip Van Lemon?
Alexander the Grape?

RocketBlender - 2013-09-10

I'm going to be honest with you guys. I don't know if it's an act or not, but the page-long brony manifestos always make me laugh, often for the reasons intended.

Also, I loved the Power Puff Girls (or more accurately, the mayor and villains of the show, whose names I've all forgotten except Mojo Jojo) back in highschool. It's weird to think the same person is responsible for the brony craze.

Spoonybard - 2013-09-10

I'm glad EvilHomer started doing this thing, so Caminante has somebody to play with

Seven Arts/H8 Red - 2013-09-10

I fully expect Canada to base a 13-episode series around this conversation.

Shoebox Joe - 2013-09-10

Yikes. I get irritated enough as it is when my parents/anyone around me decides to break into a funny voice. I'm tempted enough to say that this puts me off from being a voice actor but a few things come into mind.

1) Voice acting is a pretty small circle. The only people who even go further are the ones who can make original characters. Tara and Tabitha have been around for a long time, so they're routinely been around each other. So it's pretty easy for them to be comfortable.

2) Tabitha has been avoiding social media for quite a bit and Tara has routinely been chiding her to get on. I wanna say she's using the voice in a sarcastically chiding way, but damn does it still annoy the shit out of me. Twilight Sparkle? More like Pinkie Twilight Pie Sparkle!

3) I will most likely die naked, sucking on a freezer pop in a dry bath tub. If I ever got invited to a con for anything I did, I would immediately say "fuck no" or some polite euphemism of such.

$) It'll be an otter pop. Specifically Sir Isaac Lime.

Which brings me to what's on my mind, PoETV. Which otter pop would you most likely be found eating before you die?

Caminante Nocturno - 2013-09-10

It would most likely be a stick of dynamite I deliberately mistook for an Otter Pop.

Shoebox Joe - 2013-09-10

Pick a flavourite!

Blue (blue raspberry) - Louie-Bloo Raspberry
Pink (tropical punch) - Poncho Punch (replaced Rip Van Lemon)
Yellow (lemon) - Rip Van Lemon (discontinued in the late 1970s)
Green (lemon-lime) - Sir Isaac Lime
Red (strawberry) - Strawberry Short Kook
Purple (grape) - Alexander the Grape
Orange (orange) - Little Orphan Orange

RocketBlender - 2013-09-10

Strawberry Short Kook! Where do I find these?

Shoebox Joe - 2013-09-11

I can only assume you can get them on-line. Have not seen a package around my area for a long time.

La Loco - 2013-09-10

How much child abuse went into making these two freaks, a little, a lot, a metric fuck ton?
