Oddly enough I don't like Archer. Eastbound and Down had me addicted by the final season, but mostly for providing a pretty heart-wrenching story with jokes and a little zaniness thrown on top.

Metalopcalypse, on the other hand, is just fun to watch but it's rarely funny for me. I watch it mostly for of the violence and actually good metal. Other than that, it's basically "Spinal Tap." Since Method Man and other rappers are providing voices, I see the same potential. But I also see it as a potential, well, most adult animated programs that don't last a year..

Not sure what's the last "Archer" you've seen, but for whatever it's worth, "Archer" got a lot better after the first season, which was all hung up in a love triangle that completely dragged the show down. Also, Pam the HR lady was not yet totally fucking awesome, in her uninhibited dairy farmery kind of way.

I'll give it another shot, for sure. I didn't like a lot of shows at first (Trailer Park Boys, Arrested Development etc.) that all my friends would ridicule me about not liking. What I've seen of Archer seems to be primarily sarcasm, which I'm not a huge fan of.

I did like the episode where Archer was superimposed as velociraptor though- maybe I'm just low-brow like that :)

(I'm also not a huge fan of grammar today.. in my defense I was on the phone with a client while writing about Archer)

To clarify, I went ahead and watched other promotional materials for the show.

I watched the other promos just now. Seems to me like it's a bunch of homosexual prison rape jokes which are sadly still considered funny by most. In either case, I'll give it at least a season in (if it lasts that long) to bit torre-- I mean, subscribe to cable and watch on FX
