You think so? I actually liked this one a lot.

IrishWhiskey - 2008-11-05
It wasn't great, but the last few were, so the shark-jumping talk is premature.

Anyway, you'll enjoy Dead Space far more if you think of it as a horror game in the same way that Resident Evil 4 was. Which is to say, not at all. But it is a remarkably fun action game.

Every time I think these are getting old, I go watch a regular game review and remember why Yahtzee's work is so refreshing.

Camonk - 2008-11-05
Maybe it's just that the last two were so great that they completely refreshed me on Yahtzee, but I liked this one a lot, too.

fluffy - 2008-11-05
Yeah I thought this was about average for Yahtzee. Which means a 5 from me.

Cleaner82 - 2008-11-05
At least you didn't use the term 'sold out', though it was implied. With these five stars for Yahtzee, I steal five stars from your soul.

Caminante Nocturno - 2008-11-05
He's right. Evil Genius is a management sim.
KnowFuture - 2008-11-05
Goblin acrobatics! (2:17)
zatojones - 2008-11-05
So this game is repetitive?
IrishWhiskey - 2008-11-05
It's my job to be repetitive. My job. My Job! Repetitiveness is my job.

Daddy Warcrimes - 2008-11-05
I can't look at any story about Google Android anymore without seeing the little Yahtzee monster in its place.
chumbucket - 2008-11-05
I like that despite all the silliness he actually reviews the game
Pillager - 2008-11-05
Lovecraft reference, FTW.
Bone_Vulture - 2008-11-05
And accurate, too.

"So is this monster the size of a truOH JESUS"

dementomstie - 2008-11-05
Yeah, best line in the review.

Sputum - 2008-11-05
He didn't even mention the cool interface. I thought he would have given that a point or two. Oh well.
oogaBooga - 2008-11-05
I thought this was one of his better ones.

EA is fucking garbage. One giant bland game churning machine with a lot of money to throw around but absolutely no soul.

That said, a few good games to manage to eek by EA's quality-destroying QA mechanism and dead space seems to have gotten through it with maybe only an arm missing.

Which is better than the quadraplegic (sp?) mess that hellgate, 2142, etc etc came out as.
citrusmirakel - 2008-11-05
Yeah, that's pretty much exactly the game I rented and then forgot about the next day.
Hodge - 2008-11-05
Yeah, the game is seriously over rated.

Princess v2.1 - 2008-11-05
This game has no soul. +1 star for the bricks
Sean Robinson - 2008-11-06
There seems something horribly unnecessary about obligatorily assigning a rating to every single episode of a weekly show that you (and I) will likely keep watching until its creator stops making it.

I still really hate that intro and outro music.

Eh. His schtick's got boring now. Actually, it got boring some time in the middle of summer. It's like he's taken Charlie Brooker's admission that heaping praise on something is boring, then got confused and thought that meant he had to complain about things even if there's really no need for complaint.

Anyway, I thought Dead Space was better than Bioshock.
IrishWhiskey - 2009-02-24
Were you just trying to emphasize why you shouldn't be listened to with the last line?

FABIO - 2011-02-11
"Competent, but bland" pretty much sums it up. The technical stuff is there but they just don't know the first thing about horror pacing (There's almost no early buildup. You're on the ship for one minute then wham monsters the whole time.") and the puzzle elements were tacked on by marketers.

Seriously, fuck the asteroid segment.
