I don't want to detract from Letterman's funniness, but I'm starting to think that his best quality now is his incredible sense of spite, and knowledge of his own power. He's always been funny, both in the past and the present, it's just an argument of when he was funniest, but right now, it seems that he is one of the few people in a prominent position willing to bring up subjects that he thinks to be important.
At this point he's practically a form of check and balance for the late-night crowd. On top of that, anyone who tells someone who's blackmailing him to fuck off, along with a presidential candidate, has my respect.
Dave knows who he is, what power he holds, and how the business works. God help all those who fuck with Dave.
Having a show at 1:30 is kind of like not having a show
Dave says several very hurtful things, especially towards the end. The last line is a zinger.
Everyone says hurtful things about Carson Daly. I'm sure he's on several pills to knock him out before he can cry himself to sleep each night. Long before 1am.
They better not fuck with Conan. I used to like Jay and everything, but he had his chance. Fuck him and his variety hour, let him sit on all those expensive cars and all their respective insurance payments. He doesn't get a show. Tough titty.

Best thing to come out of this shitstorm so far.

Gee fucking willikers.
This is fun to watch.
I love this new catty direction they have all gone in. This is the most interested I've been in late night shows in a long time. Gossip!
William Burns
I don't remember Letterman being this funny back on NBC.
What a hateful man.
Why does it only fill me with joy? I must be hateful too.
his Jay Leno is spot on
He should've drug Harvey Pekar out of Cleveland to deliver this, it would've been exactly the same.
Caminante Nocturno
I like the music that starts playing when Dave impersonates Pluto.
Man Who Fights Like Woman
I would watch a show Conan does out of his basement.
Put Jay on Adult Swim & let Eric Wareheim direct it.
I would like to see a lot more of Letterman's Leno impression.
EEEHHHHHH MAVIS PASS ME THAT OIL FILTER
